by the moonlight…

November 14, 2011

So I was telling a friend in an e-mail today… I have these sky lights right over my bed and sometimes when the moon is full and the sky is clear, the light actually wakes me up…and what a way to be woken up in the middle of the night. It feels like nature wants me to stay up with her and whisper secrets to me, and it takes a while, showing a sliver more each day but eventually it is whole….I am always overwhelmed by it….that the light can be so clear, so big, so great, it can even rival the dark.

…and I am awake.

Thanks for sharing this…La Luna always surprises me when She peaks in through my window window blinds, too. What a lovely way to know we are all connected… when all is calm, all is bright…

When I was in college, my dorm room was on the 16th floor, and I had a lovely view of the moon. No trees or buildings or powerlines were that high. Some nights I would just sit on the window ledge staring at the full moon and dreaming about the type of life I wanted to live as an adult.

Thanks for this post. It brought back nice memories for me.

  5. What a beautiful post. I have always loved skylights, and would love to have some of my own someday – until then, seeing this post will have to be enough 🙂 What a wonderful way to describe being awakened by the moon – as if nature wants you up with her. I have never imagined it like that.
