4 things…

4 happy people after trimming the tree
1. Lately I have to preface every public outing with: “Jack, No part of your body should be on the floor at any point in our shopping experience today. Not your head, your elbows, your ears, your nose, your knees, just your feet, feet are okay. And let’s keep the Zelda moves to a minimum, alright?”
Can you imagine Amanda Soule saying such a thing to her children?
2. I am in a serious friend groove at the moment…wise wonderful women everywhere I turn. It’s blissful.
3. Fat babies are the best…even with my bad back. Lyra gets more rolls by the second. Her cheeks will soon take over the city. So much to kiss and nuzzle.
4. I think I might want to try to photograph someone’s birth- before, after or during. This would be a huge honor as birth is such a big deal, but if anyone knows anyone that might be interested, shoot me an e-mail wouldya? no charge involved.

I would love it if you would photograph my birth…except I need to get pregnant first. Anyway, if or when the time comes, if the desire is still there…maybe you would like to be my doula and photographer? Miss you!

did i ever tell you about the time i was a doula at this lovely family’s home birth and how i took copious amounts of pictures–no holds barred–i got EVERYTHING, if you know what i mean–it was a beautiful birth and i was so proud to have captured it all. “um, kelly…?” the mother said weeks later when we caught up to process/reminisce about the birth, “remember how i had said that i didn’t want any pictures of the ACTUAL birth…?”
oh god.
but there’s a happy ending. she followed up by saying, “i’m so glad now, looking back, that you took all those pictures…i treasure them!”
whew!
