hello… and a message from the dark

I’ve written no less than 10 posts…and hit delete or save draft every time.
There is so much I want to say, and yet I have no idea where to start. I wish I had written all along, but alas, I did not.
So instead of trying to catch up, let’s start right here.
I’ve been battling a stomach bug for the last 36 hours, yuck. …but the good part is I am resting, watching mindless television (hello Scandal!!) and it gives me time to make a small offering to you (and myself) today.
I am working on a small project with my dear friend Jen , trying to think of ways to reach a hand out to each other in the dark, or even just a “I am here. You are not alone.”
So if you are plagued with a stomach bug, or too many bills, or family shit, or general sadness, or had a fight with your partner, or have a hard work sitch, or are an exhausted mother, or have no idea what to do with your life, or on the verge of something big or hard, or nothing is wrong in particular but nothing is right either…we have an audio message for you, from one of us, or from a kid.

Tell us in a sentence or so what’s going on…and we’ll text you back some love…and kindness…because kindness changes everything…and we can be together in the dark.
(audio messages are available until 12am (EST) on October 8th- but don’t worry, we are going to do this again and soon!! )

Haven’t commented in awhile. Sorry about the bug. I too have been hit by the darn bug… Highs and lows going on in my life. Son finally back at Ft knox instead of Germany, but he has a long road ahead of him. Oldest son graduated and landed a wonderful job with a Surgical vet. Now to get the rest of his life in order… I love that you are reaching out, even in your dark time to share your love and kind spirit. You are still an inspiration to me and thousand of others! I need some light. My precious daughter, my only child, got into a car with a friend. She didn’t know he had been drinking. Within 5 minutes she was dead. My heart and world are shattered.

As always, you’re wonderful! Thinking of others even when you have a stomach bug. Eat those saltines and sip some 7-Up and know that you make a difference in this world.

You are my hero. I love you.
It is funny; the world hands you love just when you need it most. I have followed your blog, Patience, for some time now. Every time I read it I tear up with the truth and vulnerability of it. So true, it all is. I just watched Charlie Kaufaman’s video. It said just what I needed to hear.

Wow, this is such a great idea. I think people should do things like this more often. For some reason, people find it easier to seek advice or vent to people when it is anonymous. I have found that anonymity makes the best kind of kindness as people pass it on to other people they come across in their daily lives.
I definitely think you should spread the word of this wonderful idea, if I will be reblogging this post to promote how simple some kind acts can be, and how listening to someone, if only for a minute, can really help them out of the darkness.
